Ferrari arrives in Miami hungry for revenge after the home debacle at Imola and it does so with some updates to solve its two main problems: straight-line speed and porpoising. As for the first, the F1-75 will be equipped with arear wing updated to try to fill the gap full speed with Red Bull.
As for the phenomenon of hopping, we will witness a bottom modified in the side border in order not to deform laterally in front of the rear wheels. The concept refers to the bottom of the Red Bull RB18 and it is a component available to the Maranello team already from Bahrain, therefore approved by the FIA.
The objective of the Scuderia is to reduce porpoising as much as possible and delaying its "arrival" only at the end of the straight, when the riders are now preparing to brake. Less porpoising would mean less tire wear, a problem that greatly afflicted the Ducati in the last round at Imola. The update was tested by Carlos Sainz in the days of the Pirelli tests for the 2023 tires at Imola, but only the new American track will tell if the solution is successful or not.
