Spain is a rather indicative battleground for the world championship and for this reason there was a lot of anticipation for the race. Even more so after Saturday's qualifying which saw a very close battle between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen within just 20 thousandths. With such close gaps between the top teams and the degradation, everything was about strategy. The choice of timing of the stops determined the winners and losers of this one Grand Prix. Let's see the tops and flops of the Spanish GP at Fanta F1.
Lando Norris has a bit of a bad taste in his mouth about the result and no one can blame him. McLaren had the best performing car in the group but strategies and start determined the second place of the Englishman who nevertheless sets out to chase Max in the drivers' championship. In fact, with his second position in Spain, Lando gains one in the world championship in which he is now second. The person who was able to rejoice the most was therefore Max Verstappen, aware of the struggles that await him for the rest of the season.
The top of the Spanish GP
Max Verstappen: Max Verstappen wins again at Barcelona for the third year in a row. A great show of strength for a team that is not going through a great moment. At the moment the RB20 proves to be less performing than the previous single-seaters and more complex to manage. But despite this, Red Bull puts into practice the lessons learned from years and years of battles by reacting harshly. They are decidedly more hard-earned victories and for this reason they also deserve recognition at Fanta F1.
Lewis Hamilton: First podium of the season for Lewis who comes from a difficult weekend in Canada. Mercedes has won two in the last two races, a sign that perhaps something good can be gained from the W15, also taking advantage of Ferrari's dark period. On the track, Lewis did not deny any battles to his teammate, who managed to maintain his position thanks to an excellent strategy.
Pierre Gasly: Points, points, points for Pierre and for Alpine who finished with both cars in the top 10. Fortunately in the race the focus of both was on bringing both cars home. Also because with Briatore in the paddock we don't know what reaction there might have been. The French Fantamangers are also seeing some light again.

The flops of the Spanish GP
Fernando Alonso: the good Fernando certainly didn't expect to experience such a tragic season. Aston Martin is still far from ideal form, and so isn't even able to attack the top 10. The regression is significant given what Alpine is doing, which has managed to get both cars into the top 10.
Sergio Perez: with Perez the team is now just experimenting, also given the form of Red Bull, which is in great difficulty compared to the beginning of the season. At least in Spain he returned to the points, even if a P8 obviously isn't enough.
Charles Leclerc: weekend to forget for the Monegasque who was hoping for a sign of recovery after the defeat in Canada. Furthermore, when the Red team suffers, problems between riders also emerge. In fact, at the start a contact with Sainz almost ruined the race for both. Ferrari seems to have returned to square one, with the difference that now Mercedes has also been invited to the party. So it will be difficult to think of maintaining second place in the constructors' championship.
