The Silverstone weekend was a concentration of emotions and surprises which culminated perhaps in the most beautiful way, with the return of a great champion. Surrounded by young people, from the future of Formula 1 Lewis Hamilton took their first win of the season, a win that had been missing since Jeddah 2021. The British circuit saw its local heroes shine, Lewis Hamilton and Lando Norris on the podium after a race full of twists and turns and battles at the top, most especially when the rain arrived. In the wet, in difficult conditions, everyone's true nature came out. The strategies did the rest, thus giving a dream to the many fantasy managers of the 7-time world champion. But there was also no shortage of negative surprises that affected the Silverstone weekend at Fanta F1: so let's see the tops and flops at Fanta F1.
Recent weeks have seen a significant change in the Formula 1 landscape, with the championship proving to be much more balanced than expected. Four different teams have won in the last six races, and as many drivers have achieved Pole Position.
The Tops and Flops of the Silverstone GP at Fanta F1
Lewis Hamilton, TOP: Silverstone has a king, and his name is Lewis Hamilton. 9 victories on this track give him a record, but his biggest celebration is having found victory again after more than two years. Two difficult years, the suffering of which can be seen entirely in the embrace with Bono. Just as Lewis cannot contain his emotion at the end of the race, neither can the Fantasy managers who had placed their trust in him at the beginning of the weekend. It's worth saying: GET IN THERE LEWIS!
Max Verstappen, TOP: Max Verstappen suddenly found himself, after a year of relative tranquility and dominance, having to pull out all the weapons at his disposal to win. He hasn't managed it for two GPs already, but not thanks to him. Red Bull is in great difficulty. The Dutchman tried everything he could to reach second position successfully and with a different strategy from the others. A few more laps and he could have caught Hamilton. Today we cannot fail to give him credit. Especially considering that Norris had a much better car and finished behind.
Nico Hulkenberg, TOP: someone stop him. At Silverstone he achieved his second consecutive P6. Hulkenberg with a Haas is more consistent than the two Ferraris who both failed to finish in the points.

Charles Leclerc, FLOP: Leclerc knows it well, when things go wrong there is always the possibility that they will go worse. And what's worse than not having a high-performance car? Well, having a non-performing car and at the same time making a disastrous strategy by returning to fit the intermediates with an almost dry track, losing the top 10 and other precious points in the championship. Ferrari returned to its old configuration and was hoping for rain to recover and limit the damage. But this turned out to be more of an enemy than an ally. The gray sky at Silverstone is as gray as the expressions of the Fanta managers of the Monegasque, who after the home race only collected disappointments, rather than podiums.
George Russell, FLOP: from a victory in Austria, from a Pole achieved at Silverstone in front of his own fans, to retirement. These last two weeks have been a whirlwind of emotions for George Russell. The Englishman who had savored his first victory at home, thanks to Mercedes' newfound competitiveness, was unable to even see the checkered flag. What a disappointment.
Pierre Gasly, FLOP: Pierre Gasly practically didn't take part in this weekend. After giving up his place to Doohan in FP1 at Silverstone, he finished last in qualifying. No effort necessary as he would have had to start from the back anyway for the Power Unit change. This change, however, does not seem to have changed the situation much as the Frenchman was forced to return to the pits at the end of the formation lap. The only sign that Pierre left is therefore a heavy -10 for his Fantasy managers.
