Silverstone did not deny itself and this year too it gave the fans a race full of twists and turns starting from Saturday, the day of qualifications in which the two McLarens took center stage Lando Norris – champion of English fans – and Oscar Piastri. But the biggest surprise came in the race with the confirmation of McLaren's superiority over rivals such as Mercedes, Aston Martin and Ferrari. The double podium missed out just due to the timing of the Safety Car but the battle with Max Verstappen in the initial stages, and with Mercedes in the final, highlights the great step forward made by the team after bringing massive updates to the MCL60. Unfortunately there were also some negative surprises at Silverstone. So let's see the tops and flops at Fanta F1.
TOP
Let's start with the tops with a mention. Put Max Verstappen is now a given among the top in Fanta F1, with 6 victories in a row (seven counting the Sprint in Austria), and a gap of around 10 seconds with the rest of the group. However, mentioning it is an obligation as this is his first victory at Silverstone. The battle with Norris galvanized him at first. He would always like to have more competition too.
Land Norris: There isn't a comma out of place in Lando Norris's weekend as he tried to take home the victory despite knowing he couldn't compete with Max. As his opponent and friend also underlines, he was very correct and the McLaren's performance they allowed him to take home a very important podium, at home. The crowd carried him from the first lap, but he carried the others for the rest of the race. The defense on Hamilton against the compound stunned Lando himself. At Fanta F1 he also gets the Sky Driver's +5 bonus.

Oscar Piastri: We also give credit to Oscar Piastri. The Australian's race was excellent. Always close to his teammate both in qualifying and in the race. After an excellent start and a consistent pace he lost the opportunity to get on the podium in his debut season due to the Safety Car. The team was rather conservative in its strategies and didn't risk the compound change like others but despite this Oscar managed the race perfectly and didn't let himself get carried away.
Lewis Hamilton: Complete the double British podium after a complex race. Unlike Russell, the strategy rewards him and puts him ahead of his opponents. We are at four seasonal podiums for Lewis who continues to give good points to his Fantasy Managers.
FLOPS
Now we come to the sore points, namely the Flops at Fanta F1 on the Silverstone weekend. The English circuit, as we know, is an important crossroads in the calendar and just as there are some teams that have fared better, like McLaren there are also teams that have struggled. In particular the Ferrari, which had instead had positive results in Austria. No compound suited the SF-23 which did not go further than ninth with Leclerc and tenth with Carlos Sainz. Alexander Albon went better than them, in a Williams.

Carlos Sainz: Among the flops we include a Ferrari driver. Of the two, Sainz was the one who did worse over the weekend. Especially in the final stages of the race he allows himself to pass from the middle of the grid, risking throwing Leclerc out in the mix too, as he had a set of new tyres. At Fanta F1 his score is not what you would expect from the Spaniard who took home a victory here last year.
Pierre Gasly: Alpine had a black weekend, diametrically opposed to McLaren's. First Ocon's out due to a technical KO, then Gasly's out due to a contact with Lance Stroll, a driver with whom the Frenchman had already been battling for several laps.
As a last mention in the flops we also put in the middle Aston Martin which seems to have lost a bit of luster compared to the beginning of the season, also thanks to a step forward by other teams. Alonso didn't inspire and the only one to take penalties was Lance Stroll.
