The titles have already been awarded. There Red Bull e Max Verstappen they graduated world champions with a week to spare. However, to close the championship in the best way, also breaking another record regarding seasonal victories, you need to do well in the last three races of the calendar. The Mexico City GP could be the perfect opportunity for the paladin of the house, Sergio Perez. Last year, the Mexican was called to protect Max's title. Now, with titles assigned, nothing prevents the team from giving him his moment of glory this weekend. The atmosphere in Mexico is simply crazy and in his years in Formula 1 he often put on a show. The weather could be unknown with a few droplets of rain over the weekend and this would be new. Let's see our advice on predictions at Fanta F1.
Our choices
Safety Car in the race: SI
The most demanding braking is precisely that at the start, there could be more or less unpleasant surprises like last year. If Austin has taught us anything then it is that it takes very little to create a drama.
Virtual Safety Car in the race: SI
Since 2015 Virtual and Safety have practically always alternated. In 2021 there were none.
Red Flag in the race: DO NOT
Really hard to see a red flag in Mexico, apart from the tricolor of course.
Drivers distinguish between wet/full wet tires in the race: DO NOT
Although weather is still uncertain the chances of rain on Sunday are rather scarce, higher those for Saturday instead and in the night between Saturday and Sunday. We will still monitor the situation in the next few days but at the moment we opt for a NO.
Team double in the race: SI
Red Bull will do everything to bring Perez to victory and complete the picture with a brace. The Mexico City GP has a rather difficult feature to deal with: the altitude, which brings challenges on the aerodynamic and reliability front. One of the things that Ferrari suffers the most is tire degradation, while Red Bull manages to make the fronts work well. Mexico could exacerbate this problem for Ferrari, undermining the opportunity to seize a success that is missing from Austria.
Driver who starts on pole wins the race: DO NOT
In the flying lap Charles Leclerc has almost no rivals except himself and Max Verstappen. Once the penalty has been cleared, Charles has the free field to dabble in what is his peculiarity, being able to also exploit the excellent traction of the F1-75. However, we know that in the race it will be really difficult to avoid the two unleashed bulls, even more so on a "home" track.
Stables to bring both riders into the top 10: 4
We choose 4 as the number of teams to bring both drivers into the top 10.
Drivers forced to retire: 2
While as a last forecast at Fanta F1 we choose a slightly lower number for withdrawals
