Over the Spa weekend, in Belgium – the last before the summer break – the Sprint format returns with a single one-hour free practice session. A factor which in itself makes every session unpredictable but which, combined with the pouring rain which threatens the Belgian circuit, worries the teams and riders quite a bit. Taking to the track at Spa without having tested the car in a clean session would be madness. Just like doing it in extremely wet conditions. There is a lot of apprehension on the subject, also considering the latest fatal accident involving Dilano van 't Hoff which occurred here just under a month ago, on a rainy day. So, while we examine the weather to understand if the weekend will be able to take place regularly, let's look at the advice on who to line up this weekend at Fanta F1, and on the forecast for the weekend.
Who to deploy
The weekend could reserve some surprises for us due to the Sprint and rain. One has already arrived and concerns the penalty that Max Verstappen will have to serve in Sunday's race. The Dutchman, according to what was reported by the national media, will start with 5 positions less due to having made the fifth of the four changes allowed by the regulations. If he takes pole he will therefore not start higher than sixth position. An element that can certainly open up opportunities for those who manage to place in front this afternoon in qualifying. But also a factor to consider for the Fantamanagers who have the Dutchman in their team and who, with a comeback this weekend, could win even more points.

A couple that can be paired with Max is the McLaren duo, who are in great shape. Both drivers have achieved the top 5 in the last races, and the rain could help them repeat their results at Spa. It will be essential to test the car in the only free practice session, especially for Oscar Piastri, being a rookie.
At Ferrari Leclerc hopes to have a wet session. But regardless of the weather, Spa will be a difficult test for the SF-23, and it will also be indicative for Monza. The Maranello team's single-seater is still rather inconsistent, which is why it is a gamble to field the two Red drivers at the Fanta F1. The same goes for Alfa Romeo. Spa will be able to give us a verdict on the potential that has re-emerged in these last few races. A gamble that could pay off is the one on Mercedes. The team competes in the podium area, and will bring further updates. Furthermore, Hamilton thrives in these conditions.
After the double consecutive out at Silverstone and in Hungary, few choose to place their trust in Alpine. As well as in Aston Martin, a clear decline compared to the exploits at the beginning of the season. Also watch out for penalties because beyond Max there could be other twists. Gasly is at his limit with almost all the components. He also risks Hulkenberg. Considering all these factors and waiting to find out how the cars will behave on the track, should the weather allow a little respite, let's see who to line up at Fanta F1.
