The house of Italian Motorsport is ready to welcome a full house for the 72nd appointment with Formula 1. A special appointment, because it marks the total reopening of theMonza National Autodrome after last year's quota return. But also because it comes in a year of great news regarding rivalries on the track. At the moment there are three cars competing for a victory: Red Bull, Ferrari e Mercedes – still at zero altitude though. The fight for the championship title now seems to have taken only one direction in favor of Max Verstappen, but Monza is like a very prestigious bonus, which can save or scupper a season. There Ferrari now he has nothing to lose and will try everything to snatch a victory at home after 2 years of fasting. Monza is a fast, technical circuit with 4 straights. In the speed temple the teams must be able to count on a fresh, high-performing Power Unit and for this very reason they could get a series of chain penalties again, a bit like we saw at SPA & WELLNESS. With an eye to the September weather let's see tips for forecasting at Fanta F1!
Our forecast tips at Fanta F1
Safety Car in the race: Yes
Monza always promises a great show. Speed and gravel require great precision from the drivers who must also pay attention to the reliability factor given that the engine is particularly stressed at Monza. The last two editions in particular have been rather unpredictable.
Virtual Safety Car in the race: Yes
We are not ruling out a Virtual which, in the event of a stationary car or debris on the track, could replace or anticipate a Safety
Red Flag in the race: No
Red is tempting but less likely
Drivers distinguish wet or full wet tires in the race: No
At the moment the weather seems to be clement. The only day at risk is Friday.
Team double in the race: No
We still don't know who will take penalties at Monza but the names of Sainz, Hamilton and Perez have been circulating among the various rumors. All three would leave their teammate "uncovered". Not having unmarked penalties in Belgium, these are probably the 3 names we'll see at the bottom of the grid. A one-two, therefore, considering that at the moment Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari are the only ones who can aspire to a victory, would be difficult.
Driver who starts on pole wins the race: Yes
Victory starting from Pole is not so obvious. In the last 4 editions it has only happened in 2019 with Charles Leclerc. Who knows if the Monegasque, at least for this Grand Prix, will be able to smile again with a similar victory.
Stables to bring both cars into the top 10: 4
As for the number of teams to bring both riders to the Top 10, we always stick to 4.
Vehicles forced to retire: 4
However, our prediction for withdrawals is also quite high: 4.
