After the Canadian GP, Yaw Club's Fanta F1 updates its odds. The weekend just passed on the circuit dedicated to Gilles Villeneuve gave fans a slightly different Formula 1 than what they saw this year. The teams and their drivers were much closer to each other in terms of performance. and, what's new, McLaren was unable to keep up with its direct rivals. In short, strategies, mistakes and a heart-stopping qualifying session then decided the fate of the Canadian GP. So, let's see together who among the protagonists saw their stock rise and who, unfortunately, saw it fall.
Who's moving up to Fanta F1 after the Canadian GP?
George Russell
Let's go back a few years ago: 2019. In Formula 1 Williams, almost on the verge of bankruptcy, fields an interesting line-up. On one side of the box there is George Russell, fresh winner of the F2 championship. On the other hand, an unexpected return: Robert Kubica. The season, however, will be a disaster: money is limited and the car is the slowest on the grid. The championship loot is very meager: only one point won from the Polish driver in the pouring rain at Hockenheim. Let's get back to the present, because yesterday the destinies of the two drivers crossed again. Robert Kubica won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in style with AF Corse's Ferrari. George Russel, instead, he ran great all weekend in Canada. Always fast in every session, great pole position stolen from Verstappen e race managed masterfully. In short, a real crack at Fanta F1, with 33 points given to his fantasy managers.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli
We know it, last Thursday we had included it among the not recommended ones. It wasn't meant to be a rejection, but rather an invitation to be cautious with him after three difficult Grand Prix. And yet, Kimi Antonelli has amazed everyone, ensuring an exemplary performance on a track that, until the first free practice sessions on Friday, he had only tested on the simulator. Evidently this is a factor that does not scare the young Italian driver, who already in Japan, in the same situation, had surprised everyone with a very fast race pace. Returning to the Canadian GP, at the Fanta F1 the number 12 Mercedes brought to his fantasy managers well 22 points, also getting the bonus “best sky pilot“. Furthermore, he brought the tricolor back to the podium after 16 years.

Fernando Alonso
Woe betide anyone who calls Alonso finished. Woe betide anyone who thinks he's too old to straighten out what, until a month ago, it seemed to be a completely unsuccessful season. The lower-middle part of the rankings is certainly not what the veteran Asturian gets up for in the morning. However, if we want, Fernando once again teaches us that the important thing is to know how to get the best out of the situations in which we happen to navigate, every single day. Since Aston Martin has brought some updates able to improve the performance of his cars, Alonso did not wait to return to fight like a lion for the points zone. In Spain the first success, in Canada the confirmation of his return to the scene.

Who's coming down to Fanta F1 after the Canadian GP?
Franco Colapinto
He was among those not recommended for the F1 Fanta of the Canadian GP for various reasons. During the free practice sessions if it turns twice right in front of his teammate. Then came the qualifying, in which the Argentine seemed to be able to tell something different. In fact, compared to the past Grand Prix, his Q2 placement It looked great. Unfortunately though, Colapinto failed to capitalise in the race how much was gained during Saturday. Also thanks, given Gasly's difficulties, to a car and a team that in this 2025 they are struggling much more than expected, compared to the last season finale. Also for this reason, Colapinto drops one point in the odds.

Liam Lawson.
Another defeat for the New Zealander, both at the Fanta F1 and at the Canadian GP. He can't get over Liam Lawson in this 2025 season, which has been quite disastrous so far. Even on the Montreal circuit, everything went wrong for the Racing Bull driver. Eliminated immediately in Q1, while his teammate had access to the final qualifying phase. In the race then, with just over ten laps to go, Lawson was forced to retire due to technical problems. The final balance for his fantamangers is strongly negative: a good -10 points. The New Zealander confirms himself as the worst driver at Fanta F1, with an average of -2,2. Only Doohan is worse than him, but he doesn't run anymore.

Lando Norris
Last driver among those who go down to Fanta F1 after the Canadian GP. Lando Norris has once again proven of his great fragilities. It's a real shame, because seeing him at work during his best days, when he manages to become one with his car, certainly adds to the spectacle of this Formula 1. Norris' difficulties they could be similar to those of each of us, in the face of so many seemingly insurmountable problems. Or, perhaps more appropriately for the English driver, when we find ourselves forced to reach goals that, in the eyes of those who observe us, they seem due and obvious. Unfortunately, it's not that simple. You have to grow up, accept your limits and play with them, trying not to raise the white flag before the finish line. The reason why Norris drops one point in the odds, finally, is clear to everyone: the incident with Piastri and the withdrawal from the race gives his fantasy managers a very loud one . Let's hope, however, that McLaren's number 4 can soon smile again, maybe with a little more peace within himself.
