With Monza we left the European Grands Prix behind us. The calendar has moved to Singapore for the most popular nighttime Grand Prix for fans, as well as one of the most difficult for the drivers. This was also confirmed on the first day of free practice, between teams who immediately found a good pace and others who struggled more. Surprisingly among these is Red Bull who will have to redeem themselves today, in FP3 and in qualifying. In fact, starting well at Marina Bay is essential, given the limited overtaking opportunities. There is also a variable that we will have to keep an eye on, namely the weather. So let's see our Fanta F1 tips for the Singapore Grand Prix.
Who to deploy
Ferrari seems to have found another friendly track in Singapore, just like a Monza. The SF-23 did not suffer from the high aerodynamic load and this also thanks to a layout that hides the Red's weak points and enhances its strengths. On the flying lap there Ferrari it was the best on the track in the FP1 and FP2. There is still some work to be done to refine the race pace but online the data is good and above all the drivers have a good feeling with the single-seater which seems extremely balanced and responds well when braking and traction. The feeling is that Ferrari may have one more shot before heading to other less friendly tracks, such as Suzuka. Taking Pole, on a circuit known for few overtaking opportunities, could be a nice assist for the Maranello team. Especially considering how much Red Bull struggled on the first day of testing. Ferrari will have to take advantage of a Red Bull that seems more vulnerable. And this task will not only fall to the car but to the entire team, which will have to be up to the challenge,
At Red Bull, as we said, Friday didn't go well. Especially for Perez. The Mexican complained about problems with the rear which was lifting too much. Also Max Verstappen However, he complained of major balance problems, again at the rear of the RB19. The team must find the right solution quickly, having only one practice session to use. On the race pace simulation, Red Bull and Ferrari are close but Ferrari suffers a bit of degradation.
Mercedes also made good progress with Russell, Norris with an updated McLaren and a timeless Fernando Alonso. They're all very close and that makes things really interesting. Immediately behind we find Alpine and Haas. A problem with Albon's Power Unit prevented him from running in the FP2 but the Thai driver is ready to make up for it.
