With the Mexican Grand Prix just around the corner, it's time to find out which choices can make the difference in Fantasy F1. After the first few practice sessions, Ferrari has proven to be particularly competitive, while Red Bull and McLaren have faced some reliability and balance issues. Let's look at our Fantasy F1 tips for the weekend in Mexico to build a balanced top 5 with 100 credits in the Community Club NOW of YawClub to be deployed by the start of qualifying this evening at 23pm.
Fanta F1 Mexico: situation after first free practice
The Mexican Grand Prix got underway with a particularly lively free practice session, characterised by some difficulties for Red Bull and McLaren, a strong pace shown by Ferrari and the surprise of Mercedes, who however had to deal with an accident by Russell in FP2. Red Bull, in fact, recorded problems with the Power Unit on Max Verstappen's car during the second session, limiting his time on track and fuelling fears of possible reliability issues.
With the world title still in contention for a season, Red Bull cannot afford to make any missteps here, especially considering the solidity it has shown at this circuit in recent years. McLaren, on the other hand, had balance issues, with Piastri complaining about the complex management of the car. Mercedes was among the positive surprises on Friday: the team showed competitiveness in FP1, but Russell's accident in FP2 complicated the work, and the budget cap makes every repair an additional problem. Finally, the Pirelli test for the 2025 tyres, which extended the duration of FP2 to ninety minutes, put all the teams facing an atypical programme, aimed at finalising the compounds for next season. Ferrari responded positively, confirming the competitiveness already emerged in Austin and showing a good adaptation of the SF-24 to the characteristics of the Mexican circuit.
Fanta F1 choices for Mexico: Ferrari tries to make a move
Moving on to the recommended choices for Fantasy F1, the top 5 we suggest, with a budget of 100 credits, includes a combination of Ferraris and midfield drivers who have stood out in recent races. Charles Leclerc (38 credits) is one of the most solid choices after the victory at Austin and the positive signs of the tests in Mexico. Together with him, Carlos Sainz (30 credits) completes the Ferrari pairing and, with the best time in FP2, confirms a good feeling with the track. Sainz was also able to make the most of the two sessions, having had no problems of any kind. The Maranello team still has every chance of winning the constructors' championship and will have to capitalize on a circuit that already suits the single-seater.
In the centre of the group, focus on riders like Liam Lawson. (14 credits) can offer a strategic advantage, given its potential to accumulate points on a small budget. Franco Colapinto (10 credits), which has already brought results to Williams, represents another excellent value for money, particularly useful in a race where surprises can arrive. He closes our selection Kevin Magnussen (8 credits), coming off a good performance in Austin and ready to consolidate Haas' position in the constructors' championship.
