The last Sprint Race of the season of Formula 3 has recently ended. Triumphs atMonza National Autodrome Franco Colapinto, with the team MP is comes close to scoring a double with Boya, who in extremis is overtaken by an extraordinary one Gabriel Bortoleto. Excellent start to the weekend too Fornaroli and Minì.
The Argentine wins in Monza
Not a great start, that of Franco Colapinto, who in today's Sprint Race started from first place on the grid. The Argentine lets himself be surprised by his teammate, Mary Boya, that tears away the leadership of the race.
The Spaniard is first in the group after the Safety Car, which entered the track after chaos occurred in turn 1. Boya goes ahead at the restart, dragging Colapinto with him, Saucy and O'Sullivan. Tsolov slows down instead the rest of the drivers, but within a few corners Mansell and Bortoleto overtake him to fetch those on the run. Bortoleto impatiently overtakes also the Campos Racing driver, mansell.
On lap 10, Colapinto manages to regain his position on Boya, while Saucy and O'Sullivan make contact favoring the rise to third place of the Brazilian from Trident. Despite the wall they tell him to manage the tires, the new champion of the category does not want to settle. On the 18th and final lap of the race Bortoleto attacks Boya, thus bringing it home second position. Colapinto take advantage of the duel behind him and fly towards yet another victory, the second after that of Silverstone.
Between the two litigants, Colapinto enjoys it
In atypical qualifying session of yesterday, Paul Aron e Josep Maria Marti, they had the opportunity to reopen the championship, or at least to postpone Bortoleto's victory. Between one red flag and the other, however, neither of the two drivers managed to set the best time, thus mathematically assigning the title to the Brazilian.
La fight for second place however, it was still open, with the two now former contenders from Bortoleto, who separated themselves in the rankings just one point. First lap drama has though dashed hopes of Aron and of Marti. After a contact with Collet at the start, the Estonian had a left rear puncture, which led to a blocking during braking in curve 1. The number #1 of Prema attempted to go into the grass to avoid the other cars, but this only made the situation worse.
The Mercedes Junior Driver's single-seater skate on the grass and goes head-to-head, hitting Edgar and Martì. All three are forced to get out of the cars, filing one race over before it even started. Of this chaos Franco Colapinto takes full advantage of this, who in addition to winning the race manages, thanks to the zero scored by the two opponents, to reach the second place in the ranking.
Tomorrow at 08:15 the final sprint this season, who will take first place in the temple of speed?
