Il curtain is ready to fall on the 2024 season, but not before the penalties for the infringements committed by the drivers in the last race of the year have been assigned. Feature Races of Monza has Fornaroli crowned F3 Champion, while a breach of the rules led to the post-race disqualification of his direct opponent, Gabriele Mini.
Mini's disqualification from the F3 Feature Race of the Monza GP
An heart-stopping race, which marked the end of the championship of the preparatory category. On the Italian circuit Leonardo Fornaroli and Gabriele Minì fought until the last corner to win the title of champions. With an overtaking on Mansell at the parabolica, Leonardo Fornaroli took third place – behind Minì – becoming so mathematically sample.
Il second place was not enough for the Palermo native to grab the title. A bitter weekend, perhaps sweetened by a second place in front of the home crowd and by the awareness to have arrived second in a drivers' championship more competitive than ever. After the Feature Race in Monza, however, came a very bad news for Prema driver number 2: Mini has in fact received the disqualification from the last race of F3.

The reason for the disqualification lies in theinfringement of Article 12.9 of the technical regulation. According to the FIA technical delegate, Mini's single-seater did not comply with the minimum requirement as for the tire pressure. Gabriele thus loses the second-placed cup, promoting Fornaroli to the second step of the podium and Mansell to the third.
Other penalties awarded
Not only Minì: another driver who fought for the title during the second race of the weekend was also penalised. It is about Luke browning, who received a penalty of 10 seconds because it is considered responsible for contact with Joseph Loake. This penalty is in addition to the 5-second penalty that was handed out to the Williams Academy driver during the race. Browning thus moves from 13th to 20th position.
Receives 10 second penalty Max Esterson for the accident in which Noel Leon was also involved. Same fate also for the new arrival Stromsted, who gets a 10-second penalty for causing contact with Van Amersfoort Racing driver Tommy Smith. The Campos Racing driver thus slips to 23rd position.
