Alpine Academy driver makes Formula 3 debut after a year of experience in Regional formula
The team DAMS Lucas Oil announced Nicola Lacorte as second driver for the FIA World Championship Formula 3 of 2025. The Italian, member of the program Alpine Academy, will join the French team for his first season in F3 after a solid performance in 2024 in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRESH).
During this year, Lacorte also took part in the Formula Regional Oceania championship, where he won a win and a podium. Before this experience, the 17-year-old had taken part in the championships Euro4 e Italian F4. With this signature, Lacorte becomes second confirmed driver for DAMS, together with Matías Zagazeta, whose arrival had been announced at the beginning of the month.

Regarding his new adventure with DAMS, Nicola Lacorte expressed enthusiasm, declaring that he wants to make the most of the experience gained in FRECA to get the most out of his debut season in F3.
“I am very happy to be joining DAMS Lucas Oil for next season, a team with a great history in Formula 2. I have learned a lot from competing in a crowded grid of 30 cars in FRECA this year, and I think this experience will be useful, given the size of the grids in F3 too. My aim will be to give my best and aim to score points whenever possible.”
Charles Pic, team owner DAMS, shared his satisfaction with the arrival of Lacorte, highlighting the young driver's potential and the importance of supporting him in his growth for the 2025 season.
“We are delighted to welcome Nicola to our team for 2025, especially after the tests in Jerez and Barcelona this month. We are ready to support him in his growth throughout the season. With our team’s proven methods in other categories, we hope to help him achieve great results.”
