The English ART Grand Prix driver, Zak O'Sullivan says goodbye to the championship of Formula 2 due to a lack of funding and support economic by the sponsor.
In 2024, the talented driver took part in the 2024 championship which acts as “antechamber” to the top category of Formula 1. Despite the successes crowned this year, some causes of force majeure have prematurely stopped the career of healthier skin pilot.
Got into Formula 3 in 2022, the English driver navigates the grid with tenacity, collecting some successes and earning the support of the Williams Racing Driver Academy. After the season of 2022, the driver moves to Prema, however the team does not reserve the seat in 2024.
Because of this, the English driver is forced to move with ART Large Price in the current year. After a career full of successes and failures, the driver is now forced to leave the category, due to the lack of a support economic. In fact, today the prohibitive costs of this sport prevent many talented pilots, who very often do not even manage to see their entry into F3.
Zak O'Sullivan and his farewell to Formula 2
Here are Zak O'Sullivan's words on the matter:” First of all, I would like to thank ART GP and Williams Racing for all the support they have given me. This year we have collected incredible moments, numerous victories and memories especially after the Monaco win in the Feature Race. Unfortunately in our sport, there are many factors that play a role fundamentalThe main problem is given by the funds, I will no longer be able to compete in Formula 2 with ART GP.
I'm sorry I can't show my talent again for the rest of the year, but I want to thank all my sponsors, William Racing and all the people who have supported me throughout my journey. Your support is priceless, and I can't wait to ride for you again, and with you again. "
