The winter break is finally over. There F2 is back on track with testing seasonal 2024 carried out at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir: let's discover the results.
For the first time all 22 drivers on the grid they were able to try the new ones Dallara 2024. A first day of testing that saw everyone face one heavy rain and a lot of sand on the track. Conditions that compromised part of the work scheduled for this Sunday.

A complex first day of testing
Day 1 of testing dedicated to heavy rain e zero adhesion. Just 34 minutes after the session started, Isaac Hadjar he was the first to complete an outlap. Three more pilots exited in the following minutes. Piles he was the first to record a timed lap with a 2:07.309 after 40 minutes.
He drops under two minutes, clocking a 1:54.615, after three quarters of an hour. With him Andrea Kimi Antonelli with Prema he scores a 1:55.539.
11 other riders follow, but all return to the pits before completing a time due to the decidedly complicated conditions. At the end of the session it was the former junior Red Bull driver Dennis Hauger to finish at the top after competing for the best time with Victor martins.
After the first hour Piles with a 1:53.720, he was already in first position with MP Motorsport, followed by Zak O'Sullivan in 2nd position at +0,187s.

Lots of sand on the track, rain and red flags
After 55 minutes Kimi Antonelli occupied the 2nd position with a 1:54.154, Colapinto was third with a 1:54.534 and Hadjar followed 0,116 seconds away. Just when the track had started to dry, the rain arrives. A deluge that forced all the drivers to return to the pits.
In the last hour several riders returned to the track even if the asphalt was wet and full of sand. On board Prema Kimi Antonelli manages to improve his time together with Zane Maloney going into P2 at +0,176s from Hauger
With 11 minutes to go, the second red flag of the day arrived when Martins stopped at turn 10. Certainly not the best of starts in Sakhir.
