The wait is over, the first date finally arrives F2 in Hungary and with a Sprint Race that will grow on 28 laps. Optimal weather for a dry race, So let's see what happened on the track.
Problems at the start for Zane Maloney, Antonelli takes advantage.
Not even time to leave and it's straight away scene shot to steal the show. Zane Maloney, among the protagonists on Friday, forced to make a comeback start. Problems at the start of the reconnaissance tour; the Barbadian driver stalls and remains stationary on the grid and is forced to leave the second row free. Thank Kimi Antonelli who is automatically found in 3rd position.
First lines divided between Richard Verschoor and Andrea Kimi Antonelli
At the start of the Sprint Race in F2 in Hungary the protagonists are Richard Verschor, Kush Maini e Andrea Kimi Antonelli.
The pilot Trident maintains first position with one super start, while just behind him a tight battle takes place for 2nd position. Favored by soft rubber, Kush Maini gives up the position to the Italian driver.
On lap 4 he is still the driver Mercedes Academy to become the protagonist. Attack inside turn 1 and Richard Verschoor forced to succumb to the continuous attacks launched by Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Fundamental overtaking in this moment of the race, car number 4 gains an advantage and tries to escape.
But the melody begins to change from turn 9, Verschoor begins to close in on Antonelli which, in the meantime, has accumulated a gap of about 2 seconds. First timed half where Verschoor's Trident runs faster than Antonelli, 1.34.4 against the1.34.6 of the Prema pilot.
A first window of attack for Richard Vershoor appears on lap 16, Antonelli well done in not giving up first position with a super defense... hopes which however barely last 1 lap. The overtaking came on lap 17 when braking into turn 1, Antonelli went wide from the last corner and saw Verschoor, with a better line, approaching. He brakes hard, goes long and gives in to the pressure of the Trident driver.
Flat tire and big difficulties. Antonelli first drops to 3rd position, and then slowly exits the points zone. He's not the only one having problems at this stage of the race, when the F2 Sprint Race in Hungary now reaches the final stages. The Prema driver is forced to return to the pits, followed by Enzo Fittipaldi, Gabriel Bortoleto and Cordeel.
Those who mounted harder tires at the start of the race show up in the final laps.
On lap 26, Crawford, Bearman e Correa they offer a moment of extreme beauty. Still in turn 1, Crawford launches a braking attack on the Prema Racing driver and, in defending himself, finds Juan Manuel Correa at his side. The first two go long and "between the two litigants the third... comes out ahead".

Hadjar put a damper on the less than perfect weekend in Hungary by finishing the Sprint Race in 4th position F2.
