The line-ups are starting to take shape in view of the post-season tests that will keep the teams in the preparatory category busy in the coming days. Trident announced the Sami Meguetounif promoted to F2, French driver who will line up alongside Max Esterson.
Sami Meguetounif's important step
2024 was a important year for Meguetounif: has in fact debuted in Formula 3 with the Italian team. The Frenchman took home theeighth place in the drivers' standings, also achieved thanks to the victories in the two Feature Races of Imola and Monza. Before starting his adventure with Trident, Sami took part in two consecutive editions – 2022 and 2023 – of the Formula Regional European by Alpine Championship.
During those two seasons Meguetounif - future driver of the Trident team in F2 - He has collected several podiums. But for Sami the time has now come time to take an important step surrounded by an environment familiar to him: make his debut in Formula 2 in 2025 with the team that accompanied and supported him throughout the year.

Meguetounif: the Trident driver moves to F2
Following the announcement of his promotion, Meguetounif said: "I am very happy and excited to make my debut in the FIA World Championship Formula 2 with Team Trident. When I made my Formula 3 debut with the Italian team – now twelve months ago – I didn't think I would grow up this fast".
He then continued: “This year I have worked with strong, intelligent and determined people. We had an incredible season, which allowed me, also thanks to two wonderful victories, to convince those who support me that it was time to take a step forward. I am looking forward to taking part in the post-season Formula 2 tests and entering a new phase of my career".
The Trident Team Manager, Giacomo Ricci, he added: "We are very pleased to announce that Sami Meguetounif will compete with Trident Motorsport in the 2 FIA Formula 2025 Championship. We had the pleasure of working with Sami this year in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, achieving notable results, as he has proven to be a winning driver.
