After more than two months away from the track, the preparatory category finally back on the asphalt with its wheelsThe Lusail circuit hosts the first ever F2, with the 22 pilots called to adapt to the track during the Free Practice of the Qatar GP.

The green light indicates only one thing: the Formula 2 is officially back. The first laps completed by the drivers were to adapt to a circuit where this category has never competed. A Double challenge for newcomers, who will not only have to adapt to a new path, but also to a single-seaters where they have never had the opportunity to ride.

Aron first in F2 Free Practice of Qatar GP
The best time with hard rubber is recorded by Victor martins, who crosses the finish line in 1:40.841. His time is questioned by the title contenders: Paul Aron and Gabriel Bortoleto. The two they challenge each other with fast laps, with the Estonian managing to build up a 0.3 s lead over the Invicta Racing rider.
The gap increases: Aron manages to stop the clock at 1:38.024. The battle for first place is however interrupted by a red flag caused by Luke BrowningThe Williams Academy driver faked a spin, getting stuck in the sand at turn 9.

The session Qatar GP F2 Free Practice Resumes with still 9 minutes on the clock. The top positions remain almost unchanged, with verschoor who conquers the P3 on board his MP and Isaac Hadjar – currently second in the drivers' standings – who finishes in P11. A few seconds before the end of free practice, Jak Crawford ends up in the gravel at turn 14, in an accident similar to Browning's.
Appointment at 17.10pm for the qualifications which will decide the starting positions of the races.
