The big leap from GB3 to Formula 2
A few days before the green light is given – which will mark the actual return of the F2 single-seaters to the track – Van Amersfoort Racing announced the debut, just this weekend, of John BennettThe 21-year-old will take the big step after agreat season in GB3, where he finished in second place.
In this 2024, Bennett has collected 11 podiums, which also include three wins. John took part in the Formula 3 post-season testing with VAR last October and is now ready to take up the seat left to him by Enzo Fittipaldi for the last two rounds of the season.

Following the announcement, John Bennett said: "I want to thank VAR for their trust that they are putting in me by giving me this opportunity. I had the chance to take part in the F3 tests with them this year and they went very well”. The pilot then continued saying: “The team and I feel that It's time to take the next step in F2 and I'm looking forward to this new challenge. It will be a big leap for me, but I will try to learn as much as possible from these two rounds and get solid results for the team".
