We are almost at the end of the season F2 of 2024 but the tension is not over because today in the last Feature Race of the year held on the circuit of Yas Marina ad Abu Dhabi a new world champion will be crowned. In fact the two title contenders Gabriel Bortoleto e Isaac Hadjar They are only four and a half points behind and so it is important for them not to make any mistakes until the last corner. In addition, today one of their two teams will be crowned constructors' champion.
So we are ready to experience all the emotions of this battle!
Plot twist: Hadjar stables leaving
Before leaving, it is worth remembering that Paul Aron, who is now out of the running, after the penalty received in the sprint is forced to start from the pit lane. In addition, there is also a notable absentee, namely Kimi Antonelli who will not take part in the start of the Feature due to a fever.
At 10 the traffic lights go out and the 30 laps of the race begin Abu Dhabi Feature Race at the end of which only one champion will be crowned. But already at the start there is a huge twist because Hadjar stalls and manages to restart only when he is already two laps behind the others. Thus effectively leaving the championship in the hands of Gabriel Bortoleto. At this point the Invicta driver manages to extend his lead as behind him there is a battle between his teammate and Pepe Marti, who has started very well. Furthermore, on the sixth lap Crawford and Villagomes, who have had contact at the start, are forced to retire.

A race of strategies
Kusch Maini is the first to stop in the Abu Dhabi Feature and then all the others. Bortoleto struggles a bit when he comes back from the pits: he makes several blocks and is overtaken by Durksen but for him the important thing is to finish the race calmly in order to be crowned F2 champion.

In the meantime, despite what happened, Hadjar continues to believe and continually asks the box for the gap from Boroleto. In fact, the best pace is his and despite the gap he wants to demonstrate that he would have had the pace to win
By lap 10 the top seven had yet to pit but their times were increasing exponentially and so the battle for the win looked to be between Durksen, Martins and Bortoleto.
On lap 16 Bearman managed to close in on Goethe and after a series of attacks and counterattacks he managed to grab twelfth position and then quickly climb back up to tenth.
Meanwhile, in front of the drivers who have not yet stopped, Verschoor has the DRS on Martì and manages to pass him and obtain the provisional first place. At this point he manages to maintain an incredible pace, not losing time from the drivers who have already made the pit stop and giving 7 seconds to Martì in a few laps.

Abu Dhabi GP F2 Feature Race Finale
Esterson starts the waltz of pit stops for those who started with the first ones and in the meantime Durksen, Martins and Bortoleto arrive to overtake those who have not yet changed compound. Vershoor on lap 28 fits the super soft and comes back in sixth place proving to be the only one of those who have chosen this strategy who can worry the leaders by lapping 2 seconds better than Durksen. In the meantime Bortoleto has stuck to Martins and is preparing the attack that will come on lap 29.

On the last lap there are the last opportunities to overtake and Vershoor seizes them and manages to obtain third position from Martins.
The Feature Results
The Abu Dhabi F2 Feature ends with Joshua Durksen winning. Second place for Gabriel Bortoleto who becomes world champion after a masterful season. While Vershoor, after starting twelfth, thanks to an incredible central stint manages to get the podium.

Big disappointment, however, for Hadjar who saw his chance of victory vanish just a few metres from the start despite having the same pace as the leaders.
As for the constructors' championship, Bortoleto's victory gives the title to the Invicta team
The joy of the 2 F2024 World Champion
Bortoleto said in the interview that he was over the moon with the result and was sorry that Hadjar did not have the chance to play it. On the other hand, he thanked his family, his friends and his supporters, especially the Brazilian people.
