Although the drivers' market has not yet come to life despite the summer break, that doesn't mean it can't happen soon. There are three pilots under the magnifying glass: Tsunoda, Ricciardo and Guanyu Zhou. If for the first two - when talking about Red Bull the conditional is a must - major twists should not emerge, There are more and more doubts about the future of Chinese.
Zhou, the renewal does not seem to be so obvious
The indiscretion was launched by Roberto Chinchero on Motorsport.com. Zhou had recently demonstrated his desire to know news about his future soon, which however have not yet arrived. At Alfa they are stalling and trying to understand what the best move could be for next season. Zhou, considering that there aren't that many offers on the market, he gave maximum availability to stay at Sauber, which would also see him contest his home GP in China next year.
Alfa Romeo probes Pourchaire and Drugovich
Should Alfa Romeo decide to replace Zhou, there appear to be two names: Theo Pourchaire, current leader of the Formula 2 championship, e Philip Drugovich, Aston Martin's third driver. Pourchaire, as told by himself, will already have the opportunity during this season dto be able to race for Alfa Romeo, while Drugovich – after the year off considering his role in Aston – he has a strong desire to get back on track and, unless Williams decides to part ways with Sargeant (unlikely), there would be no other options for him in F1. For this reason, the Brazilian is also looking elsewhere, specifically in Indy but, should the opportunity arise to drive in the Circus, it is useless to specify what his choice would be.
Waiting for a decision
Alfa Romeo is hesitant for now. Three drivers on the bench, only one will triumph in the end and it cannot be ruled out that it could be Zhou himself who is soon waiting for a signal to understand what will become of his future.
