GP Miami Qualifying: Verstappen still in pole position

Although he achieved the 38th pole of his career, Max admits some with difficulties that he encountered on this track. “Every time we come here to Miami I find it extremely difficult to have a certain consistency in the feeling with the car, with the tires on the flying lap”. He continued by saying: “It is extremely complicated to put the first and third sectors together. It was today too question of finding the right balance and we did quite well, but it wasn't the most pleasant lap of my career due to the slipperiness of the track".

“We have to do better than Sprint”
"It was not pleasant to drive”, reiterates the Red Bull driver. “It's hot, the track is very slippery and the tires don't work very well, theThe combination of these factors makes everything much more complicated”. When asked if he was happier with this one qualification compared to Friday's, Max confirms: “Yes, that's what it seemed like to me more connected and predictable, I hope this can help me in the race too".
In the race he will have the Ferraris driven by Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz close behind him, but he doesn't seem worried at all. "The only thing we can control is what we do, so we need to focus on that. We have to do better than the Sprint race and if we do that we will be in a happy window".
Interviewed at the end of the day on Saturday, Max also talks about the victory obtained in the Sprint Race. “We felt under control and that's what we hope to be able to confirm in the race too”. After pointing out theexcellent start from Leclerc – who will also start alongside him during the race – is asked if anything will change and Verstappen replies: “We know where we went wrong. I'll try to do well what I have to do, that is what I did in these last departures and everything should go right".
