Thanks to pole position obtained in qualifying, in China Max Verstappen will start from first position for the fifth time this year, the fifth out of five Grands Prix. A truly special Pole because it also represents number 100 for Red Bull, on the same circuit where, in 2009, it took its first Pole with Sebastian Vettel. Another thing that hasn't changed since then is the presence of Fernando Alonso who will start third, immediately behind the two Red Bull drivers.
Qualifying in China for an increasingly record-breaking Max
After triumphing in the Sprint race in the morning, Verstappen set the best time qualification and takes first place on the grid for the Chinese Grand Prix.
An important result because with five poles in five races it moves to -2 from the absolute record of poles won since the start of the season, which belonged to Prost with 7.
The Dutchman and Red Bull thus reaffirmed their evident superiority with the team's two standard bearers armoring the entire front row. To the microphones of sky sports f1 Max said:
“We made some changes to the car and everything went well from the start of qualifying, then it's a question of optimizing each session and each outing on the track, trying to do better each time following the evolution of the track. The car was pleasant to drive, so I have no major complaints. I don't have any question marks for the race, we must try to prepare well to optimize everything, to examine the details to make sure everything can go well."
Respect yes, no fear
Regarding his opponents, the world champion declares that he is not afraid of anyone:
Fear? On nobody's track. You always have to try to give your best: I have respect for everyone and if they also had the best car they could do a fantastic job. But I focus on myself, I try to have fun and enjoy life.
Just some sharks, snakes and spiders which, luckily for him, won't be on the track.
