Max Verstappen with an open heart. The Dutchman talks exclusively to the microphones of The Telegraph, in which he analyzed evolution which is undergoing – and will continue to undergo – the Formula 1. The Dutchman is the current dominator of the championship, with his third world title ever closer, though his thoughts seem to focus on something else.
Verstappen skeptical: “Everything is done for money, he asks me if it's worth it”
Although it may seem that Verstappen leads a life full of emotions within the Circus, the Dutchman - as admitted by Motorsport.com - looks with different skepticism the future of this sport, also casting serious doubts on his career continuation"I'm worried about the sport I've always loved. I will always practice it, but not to a certain extent. It's not that he's totally against change, as some people claim. But I want only changes that are good for Formula 1. For example: why change things that are going well? I think the format traditional qualification is excellent and that it doesn't have to revolve around money. People, after all, might think, 'Well, he gets a lot of money, what is he complaining about?'. But it's about your well-being, the experience and not what you take. I feel like I have too much to do and skip things I want to do, so I think, 'It's still worth it?''.
Words about the future
Despite the different thoughts on the future of F1, Verstappen has an existing contract with Red Bull until 2028 and, barring unforeseen circumstances, he has no intention of quitting prematurely: “Things would have to be really bad for this to happen. I don't expect the team to decline that much, based on all the great people we have. But in this sport it is always possible that you are not competitive".
What will Max do?
For now Max is enjoying the RB19 and his great dominance during this season, but the Dutchman is no stranger to releasing this type of statements about the future, that a certainty about his stay in F1 – even after the contract with the Milton Keynes team – they never give it.
