When we reach mid-season, with a summer break ever closer, almost all the teams begin to focus their attention on next year's project, which in this circumstance is heading towards 2024. This is undoubtedly the case of the large teams which, as such, always aspire to victory. This year though, Max Verstappen and Red Bull gave no respite to any opponent, preventing the birth of a real e own fight towards the title.
Max flies, his opponents a little less
In addition to Verstappen's continuity, there are also the many ups and downs made by his opponents, who are currently fighting for second place in the constructors' championship. Just think at Aston Martin, considered a true second force at the beginning of the season, while now it is in a rather particular phase – considering the large rise of Ferrari and Mercedes. In Austria, the Maranello stable seemed to be ahead of its rivals - and obviously behind Max - while at Silverstone Mercedes did an excellent job on race pace, also taking the podium with Lewis Hamilton.

Ferrari thinks about 2024, Vasseur: "The budget cap has a significant impact"
Faced with such a situation, it seems clear that the updates will ultimately be fundamental in deciding the fate of the fight for second place in the constructors' championship. Developments that could also be decisive in view of the car for next season. At Ferrari, work has already started towards 2024, as admitted by team principal Frederic Vasseur: "The main factor is the budget cap, which does not allow a new project to be created as probably happened a couple of years ago. It means that you have to adapt your project to the situation and in these conditions I believe we have made a good step forward. You also have to consider that the regulations are much more prescriptive than before and it is quite difficult to make a big step forward in the season. But we – admitted Vasseur- we are already working on next year's project, trying to correct the direction."
