As interest in Formula 1 continues to grow, one of the most discussed topics is having a richer grid, as in the past. However, the risk of this operation is that F1 will become a mere playground for the rich and for brands looking for visibility. There are several brands – Audi, Ford, Honda, just to name a few, who will join the Circus, or return to it, from 2026. However, they are mainly agreements of a commercial nature, or which concern the supply of components.
Creating a Formula 1 team is an ambitious, expensive project. You need full awareness of what you are doing. Precisely for this reason the FIA has clarified the conditions for entry and there are various companies - such as Andretti, in partnership with Cadillac - ready to do so with their own applications.
The latest name to be added to the list is english team HitechGP, operating in the preparatory categories such as F2, F3, F4. Hitech Global Holdings, the company that owns Hitech GP, announced today that it has sold a 25% stake in the group to Kazakh businessman and motorsports enthusiast Vladimir Kim, a billionaire who made his wealth in mining . In the same press release he then made his candidacy for the 2026 F1 championship official.

Hitech and Kim's ambitious plan
On the agreement and the future of Hitech, which simultaneously deals with 6 teams in the minor categories and which is based in Silverstone, Vladimir Kim expressed himself as follows: "Motorsport is a long-standing personal interest for me and I'm delighted to be entering into a partnership with an organization that has been successful in so many categories and has such ambitions for its future. We have an established involvement with sport; however, this is our first global investment in motorsport. Its dynamic appeal, growing visibility, business-to-business marketing opportunities and growing fan base align with my personal and business ambitions.”
In addition to having formalized the sale of the shares, the team has also made the sale official introducing the world to the richest man in Kazakhstan, according to Forbes, announced that it had taken the first step towards the most important goal in its history, namely entering Formula 1.
In the press release detailing the new investment, Hitech said its ambition in F1 is one “a move that would complete its range of single-seaters and it would demonstrate that Hitech has all the right people, experience and resources to compete alongside the best teams in the world.”
