After a two-week break, Formula 1 is getting ready to return to the track for the final hat-trick of the season. The first event is the Las Vegas Grand Prix, followed by the stages in Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Three decisive races for the assignment of two world titles: the drivers' championship, where Max Verstappen has a 62-point advantage over Lando Norris, and the constructors' championship, still in the balance between McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull. The latter is the team in the most difficulty, especially due to the inconsistent performance of Sergio Perez. Suffice it to say that, in the drivers' standings, the Mexican's gap is so wide compared to the other drivers of the top teams that he is closer to Zhou - stuck at 0 points - than he is to Leclerc. Let's see the times of the Las Vegas GP.
Las Vegas: The Perfect Stage for an Unforgettable Show
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, introduced last year, is one of the most spectacular events on the calendar. Located in the heart of the Strip, the street circuit was designed to combine the adrenaline of motorsport with the entertainment of the Nevada city. In 2023, the race featured 99 overtaking maneuvers and a series of dramatic turns, including a Safety Car intervention that decided the duel between Verstappen and Leclerc. The event has attracted mixed reviews from F1 purists, who would prefer to see the championship held on traditional circuits such as Zandvoort or Imola. However, the excitement generated by the event and the breathtaking backdrop offered by the Strip have won over the general public, making the Las Vegas stop one of the most anticipated of the season.
Ferrari aims for the title: eyes on the Las Vegas weekend
Ferrari arrives in Las Vegas aiming to make up ground on McLaren, which is 36 points behind in the constructors' standings. Leclerc, coming off a season in which he often shone despite the team's difficulties, is aiming to repeat last year's excellent performance, when he qualified on pole and finished second behind Verstappen. The Monegasque sees the Las Vegas street circuit as an opportunity to get a strong result, especially after recent improvements in tyre management, which could however prove to be an additional challenge on the cold asphalt of Nevada. "On paper it's a circuit where we should do well," Leclerc told Sky Sports. However, he admitted that the low temperatures could complicate the window for optimal tyre use.
Red Bull called to win again after Brazil
While Max Verstappen is on his way to a fourth world title, Red Bull is having to deal with a less rosy situation in the constructors' championship. Sergio Perez, who has struggled to keep up with his teammate, is now clearly distanced from Leclerc in the drivers' standings. This makes the Las Vegas weekend crucial for Red Bull, which cannot afford any further slip-ups if it wants to catch up with McLaren and Ferrari in the constructors' championship. After all, ending the season going from first to third would be a huge blow.
Las Vegas GP schedule
Due to the time difference, the race weekend in Las Vegas will require early wake-up calls for European fans. The sessions will take place in the evening in Nevada, but for the Italian public this will mean getting up early to follow all the stages of the weekend live.
