After Texas and the Mexico, the race for the Drivers' and Constructors' titles arrives at Interlagos, the Brazilian circuit that has often provided intense battles and surprises. Ferrari arrives in full recovery, strong of two consecutive victories that have relaunched it in the challenge against McLaren and Red Bull for the constructors' title. At Interlagos, the title games are still open. In particular, Lando Norris's pursuit of Max Verstappen has become more intense after the penalties received by the Dutchman in Mexico, the result of maneuvers on the edge with Norris himself. So let's see what awaits us in the Brazilian GP with the weekend schedules.
The Sprint format returns to Brazil
The Interlagos weekend adopts a Sprint format, meaning teams will have just one free practice session to find the right set-up. Friday will then conclude with qualifying for the Sprint, while Saturday will see the Sprint Race and qualifying for the Grand Prix. Sunday’s race promises to be a spectacular affair on the historic Brazilian circuit, famous for its dynamic layout and long straights that make overtaking easy.
Verstappen also faces a possible five-place grid penalty due to the Power Unit change, a necessary choice to compensate for the difficulties encountered in Mexico. Red Bull hopes to exploit the characteristics of the track to minimize the impact of the penalty, but the margin for error is increasingly thinning.
