Il Canadian GP it certainly wasn't boring. First, one of the most competitive qualifications of recent times; then, a race that will remain in the annals, with overtaking, accidents and changes in weather (e.g at the top of the standings). Let's retrace the whole weekend in Montreal with the ten most curious statistics.
- Interesting statistics are already arriving in qualifying. One of these is the record for the shortest gap between pole and second place. Indeed, George Russell and Max Verstappen they had it recorded same exact time to the thousandth. This situation had occurred only once in the era of times measured to the thousandth of a second, at the European GP Jerez in 1997. On that occasion, 3 drivers set the same time: Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
- Russell's pole position was somewhat unexpected, but looking at the precedents it would have been wise to predict it. Every time a Mercedes-powered car ended each free practice session in the lead, in fact, a Mercedes engine then took pole.

- Another positive weekend for McLaren. The Woking team were still at zero points in Canada since 2015. In two days, Lando Norris' third place in qualifying gave the papaya team their best placing since 2012, before the Englishman and Piastri took home 28 points.
- The last McLaren driver to qualify in the top 3 in Canada was Lewis Hamilton in 2012. This weekend, however, number 44 experienced something else difficult qualifying, placing outside the top 5 in Canada for the first time in career.
- Complicated Saturday also for the Ferrari. With Leclerc 11th and Sainz12th, the Cavallino recorded a double elimination in Q2 for the first time since the 2021 Belgian GP. Sunday, then, didn't go much better, on the contrary: the first one arrived double withdrawal da 2022 Baku.

- With Leclerc's retirement, Norris remained theonly driver to have finished every race in the points in 2024.
- With his seventh place, Lance Stroll he surpassed Gilles Villeneuve to become the Canadian driver with most points finishes at home (5).
- Despite the statistics being on his side, Russell was unable to win the race starting from pole: in the hybrid era, in fact, the poleman of the Canadian GP he has always won except on 3 occasions (2014, 2019 and 2024). With his third place, however, the Englishman still allowed Mercedes to continue their streak 10 years on the podium consecutively in Canada.

- Verstappen he has won the last 4 races in which he started second (Hungary 2023, Italy 2023, Las Vegas 2023 and Canada 2024). You have to go back to more than a year ago (Azerbaijan 2023) to find a GP in which the Dutchman started and finished second.
- The sixth place of Alonso allows him to set a new record for the greater time interval between the first points finish and the most recent one (Australia 2003-Canada 2024), surpassing Michael Schumacher's record (21 years, 2 months and 17 days).
