Norris wins the Sprint Race, finding an ally in the virtual. Third Max, with a question mark
Lando Norris wins Brazilian GP sprint race, beating teammate Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen. Fourth and fifth place for Ferrari with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz respectively. Below is the full report of the session, a taster of what could be tomorrow's race.
Sprint Race: Teamwork at McLaren

Everyone started with used medium tyres, except Gasly and Lawson, to save the new set for tomorrow's race. The higher temperatures compared to yesterday should not create any problems in terms of degradation, given the race is only 24 laps long.
Off we go top positions unchanged, seeing the attempts of Norris and Verstappen thwarted, the latter being the protagonist of a block. Hulkenberg made a great leap forward, moving up to ninth position.
After the first part of the race in which the gap was kept under a second, on lap 7 Norris lost ground on his teammate, with Leclerc and Verstappen both lapping faster than both McLaren drivers. This led to a change of strategy, with Piastri who, in command from the start, had to slow down to provide Lando with DRS.
Halfway through the race, there was a fight between the Haas drivers, with Bearman overtaking Hulkenberg, then having to give up the position to Perez, now ninth. Leclerc was also in trouble, first making a mistake that effectively distanced him from Norris, and then losing the position to Verstappen on lap 18.
McLaren does not take advantage immediately to make a change of positions between the drivers. The virtual safety car comes to their aid, caused by a problem with Hulkenberg's single-seater, which arrived right after the inversion of positions. The virtual thus becomes an ally of the Woking team, with Verstappen at risk of a penalty.
The certainty is that Lando Norris, with the victory, gained two points on Verstappen, momentarily third behind Piastri. Behind them the two Ferraris of Leclerc and Sainz, followed by Gasly and Perez who conquers the last available point after a fight with Lawson.
F1 returns at 19:00 Italian time with qualifying for tomorrow's Grand Prix.
