The third Sprint Race of the season takes place in Austria, at the Red Bull Ring. Important opportunity for the hosts who would like to return to dominating the rankings. Although most of the points are scored on Sunday, Saturday's race can already offer a first taste of what we will see. So here is the starting grid for the Sprint Race in Austria.
The Verstappen vs Norris challenge is renewed
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris closed the ranks Sprint qualifications taking first and second position respectively with a gap of 93 thousandths. The two, who have already battled in previous races, have further separated the rest of the group. It will therefore be interesting to see a further act of this challenge that has rekindled the world championship. No one apart from Norris at the moment seems to be able to worry the Dutchman who is going through a less than excellent period. In the second row immediately behind the pair of Verstappen and Norris we find Oscar Piastri and George Russell who, despite the improvements of the Mercedes, were unable to worry the two in front. The first Ferrari we find, Carlos Sainz's number 55, is in the third row, and will start next to Lewis Hamilton.
Charles Leclerc will instead start further away, in P10 alongside Pierre Gasly. In fact, in a very tight SQ3, the Monegasque was unable to set a time due to the anti-stall activated in the pit lane which took away precious seconds and prevented him from restarting in time.
Both Alpines manage to reach the top 10 once again. However, the Aston Martins and the two Racing Bulls who had already suffered difficulties in Spain were far away.
