Alessandro Good students he said he was in favor of the increase in the cap budget. The Sauber manager gave a concrete example, explaining that the cost of living in Switzerland is higher than in other countries and the team must be able to guarantee adequate remuneration to be able to retain the talents already present in the factory and attract new ones.

“The goal is to have a level playing field”
By mutual agreement in recent months it was decided to increase CapEx, i.e. the overspending limit of the budget cap which allows the teams to invest in new equipment with a quantity defined by the FIA in a certain period of time. In this way second-tier teams will be able to spend more money, leveling the grid in terms of infrastructure.
Alunni Bravi declared: “The goal is to have a level playing field, especially in the car construction departments. For teams like us it will be important to introduce an element that can equalize the differences in terms of cost of living, because there is a discrepancy between the cost in Switzerland and that in other countries. We should put all teams on the same level, at least as a starting point. The difference will therefore be made by the skills of the people and the quality of the work and not other factors".
Sauber wants to increase the budget cap from 2026 to balance the grid situation. He also expressed himself in this regard Christian horner, team principal of Red Bull, who said: “I think it's about finding a balance. CIt was a great learning through the operation of the budget cap. I believe that the most important thing from 2026 both and employees do not have to bear the burden of these changes. It makes sense for there to be a discussion about what is included, what is excluded and what is actually relevant to the performance.".
