The results during free practice and the first two rounds of qualifying were at odds with the good things Charles Leclerc has shown so far. But as the clock neared its end in Q3, Carlos pushed harder on the accelerator to grab third position behind Oscar Piastri.

I lacked confidence in the car, so third place is good progress. I would have liked to fight for pole, but the truth is Charles did an outstanding job. The car was fantastic, and he managed to get the most out of it, so I'm happy for him. I looked strong in the race simulations yesterday, so we'll have to look at that ahead of tomorrow.
