Bedroom place in the FP1, third in FP2. Thus began the last one Monza GP from a Ferrari driver for Carlos Sainz, who will be racing in Italy as a Williams driver next year. Among the new package of updates and adaptation to new layout of the Brianza track (new kerbs and new asphalt), the Spanish driver had an intense day of free practice but finished with confidence.
The last free practice session, Saturday morning at 12:30, will be crucial to file down those thousandths that can make a huge difference in what is expected to be a qualification very tight (at 16).
Sainz's words after FP2 of the Monza GP

"Was a very intense and interesting friday – Sainz explained at the end of FP2 of the Monza GP – The track of Monza has changed a lot, with very different kerbs and a new asphalt. For this reason the pitfalls and limits of the car are quite different compared to previous years and we had to adapt to a new scenario in terms of setup and understanding of tyre degradation”.
"There is a lot of work to do tonight to improve for tomorrow, but overall it was a positive start to the weekend".
