At the end of qualifications in Great Britain we find it in fifth position Carlos Sainz. The Ferrari, who had always been close to his partner, was confirmed in good shape according to less than a tenth from Leclerc.
The hot words of Spanish
What sparked discussion was the small spat between the two drivers. Sainz lets Leclerc pass in the pit, before covering the last available lap of Q1, and then overtake him on the launch lap. "Great Carlos, great overtaking at the last corner” – Leclerc said in the radio team, showing all his dissent. It must be underlined, however, that before handing over the position to Leclerc in the pit lane, Sainz had declared to his engineer: "It doesn't seem like a correct move to me: he's third and I'm fourth, I'm more at risk."

Sainz: “I respected the rule. I risked not doing the tour"
Carlos spoke to Sky Sport Sainz However, he wanted to better explain the dynamics and why, before entering his flying lap, he wanted to overtake his teammate"We have rules that I respected. However, there was a point in qualifying where if I hadn't started, therefore overtaking Charles, I would have lost the lap. In the end I had a nice ride but nothing special. In these conditions, even with the presence of wind, it is always difficult. When the cars are just a few thousandths apart, as in our case, I don't think we could have done better."
