Restart in the best possible way. This is the goal they have set for themselves at home Mercedes. The Brackley team has just returned from a first part of the season full of ups and downs, with the updates – brought to Munich – which have proven themselves determinants for the team's recovery. The star's team is in fact now in second place in the constructors' standings, thanks to the excellent work done by Hamilton and Russell, and hopes to remain in that pitch until the end of the season.
Russell: “We want to stay in second place in the constructors' category”
If on the one hand, Lewis Hamilton is coming off a fantastic first part of the season, on the other, George Russell he got into a bit more difficulty. The English rider is unable to be as consistent as last year and hopes to start, already this weekend from Zandvoort, a new season, but always giving maximum priority to teamwork: “We want to continue to progress as a team. We are in a good position as a constructors' championship, in that – Russell explained in the conference – we are in front seconds. We have made some progress since the fight with Aston Martin, but watch out for McLaren which I am convinced will come, as it is getting better and better. There's no denying that we'd like to win a race this year, but Max and Red Bull are impregnable, so the objective is to consolidate second place in the constructors' category”.
“The weather unknown should not be underestimated”
Last year Russell finished second in the standings. A result, which today would be very important for him and for the team, which does not seem impossible to achieve: "I don't see why the car shouldn't be as positive on this track as it was last year. It's a high load track, in which we usually do quite well. In Budapest we went very well and Holland is one of the most complete tracks together with Brazil, but once again we have to pay attention to the weather which, as in Belgium, will be a big unknown".
