After a start to forget, Mercedes is trying to get back up. The updates brought to Barcelona – or rather to Monaco to be precise – seem to slowly bear fruit. TO Silverstone, Mercedes had not convinced in the flying lap, not particularly shining in qualifying. In the race however, the pace maintained by Russell and Hamilton was incredible.
Russell towards Hungary: “I hope to repeat what we did last year”
Hamilton managed to snatch the podium, finishing in third place, while Russell – following incredible management on the soft tire – crossed the finish line in fifth place in the standings. The 25-year-old driver aims to raise the bar even further for Hungarian GP"I will push to repeat what we did last year (when Russell took pole in qualifying, ed.). There have always been some interesting races lately and I expect there will be entertainment here too. We are focused on continuing to progress, but we must stay ahead of our rivals".

“Aston first good and then bad, Ferrari instead the opposite”
On the progress of Mercedes, full of ups and downs, Russell believes his team I'm not the only one having this difficulty"It's a bit the same for all teams. Aston had started very well and now it seems they have taken a small step back, as has Ferrari and I think Red Bull, for what it's worth, took a step back a few times too. There is a more compact group which makes everything more exciting, but our objective is second place in the constructors' championship and there is no discussion about this."
