The checkered flag waves at the Singapore GP with Lando Norris who takes home this race. Followed by Max Verstappen who, with a car that is not the favourite on this track, limits the damage very well and does not lose too many points on his rival. He closes the podium Oscar piastri, then Russell e Leclerc in recovery. Let's discover the highlights of this Grand Prix.
Norris first in turn one, who then immediately tries to escape
The departure sees Lando Norris maintain his position for the first time since he started in pole position. He tries Hamilton with red rubber on Verstappen, with the Dutchman holding the position. Lightning start of Nico Hulkenberg, which passes momentarily Oscar piastri only to be overtaken again by the Australian. He started well Leclerc moving up to eighth position, while Sainz it even climbed in P12. After the first laps, Norris already has a 1.6 second advantage over Max, with Lewis starting to have a crisis with his Soft. Behind, from Piastri onwards everyone is in a train of DRS.
First pit stops, Norris dominant but he also makes a mistake
Lap 14, everything remained unchanged. Norris had built up a lead of 8 and a half seconds on Verstappen, Hamilton keeps pace with the others with the red, bringing Russell, Piastri with him. A little further behind is the trio Hulkenberg, Alonso and Leclerc. The other Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz stops to fit white rubber, exiting in P18. Problems instead for Alexander albon forced to retire. On lap 18 he also stops Hamilton going out in front of Pierre Gasly in P13. Another pit stop comes on lap 26, with Alonso which clears the way for Leclerc who is now free to attack Hulkenberg. Behind him Sainz is in P12, with the Hard not looking like a great tyre. On lap 29 Leclerc passes Hulkenberg, with his engineer Bryan Bozzi who encourages him by saying: “Our race begins now”. Lap 30, he stops Verstappen which comes out right behind the Ferrari driver. Meanwhile, Norris crashes and slightly damages the front wing, then stops and comes out in the lead again with about 3 seconds on his teammate.
Break for Leclerc and Piastri: now they are the fastest on the track
Leclerc's pit stop comes on the lap 38. With an excellent stop by the mechanics Ferrari (2.2 seconds), the Monegasque manages to stay ahead of Hulkenberg. Now the Reds have Alonso ahead and then his teammate Carlos Sainz for the sixth position. The Spanish is about 15 seconds from Hamilton. The time has also come for a break Oscar piastri on the lap 39, who comes out behind both Mercedes in P5. Everyone on the track has made at least one stop. The Australian easily gets rid of the #44 silver arrow, as does Leclerc on Alonso. The #16 quickly reaches Sainz, who is asked for a driver swap. Now Leclerc has about 14 seconds from Mercedes, and keeping this pace he should be able to attack the German cars. On lap 45 Russell passes plates, with Leclerc continuing to hammer away with fast lap after fast lap.
Norris takes it home, Leclerc fails to perform miracle on Russell
Lap 50, Leclerc gets to Hamilton and gets rid of him at the first attempt. Now I'm 8 the seconds of detachment from George Russell. Really limit conditions for everyone, with many drivers trying to put their hands out of the cockpit to find some air. Mistakes for everyone, from Norris to Mercedes who is fighting with Leclerc. The one who causes the most damage is Kevin Magnussen, who touches the wall and suffers a puncture on the left rear. On lap 58 Charles reaches the #63 car, but will not be able to bring home the overtaking. Meanwhile in front Lando Norris wins Singapore GP ahead of Verstappen and Piastri. After the Russell-Leclerc duo there is Hamilton, then Sainz, Alonso, Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez closes the Top 10. Final fastest lap for Daniel Ricciardo, perhaps in his last F1 race.
