The. debuts at the Hungaroring new qualification format. The teams are forced, in Q1, to record the time with the hard tires; in Q2 with the medium, while in Q3 with the soft. A format that provided an incredible spectacle, with pole position taken home by a wonderful Lewis Hamilton who finished ahead of Max Verstappen and Lando Norris' super McLaren.
Leclerc sixth, Sainz only eleventh
At Ferrari only Charles Leclerc manages to qualify for Q3. The Monegasque places himself in sixth position. Charles tried, but was unable to get anywhere near the top teams, with Mercedes (with Lewis), Red Bull and McLaren appearing significantly ahead. Also worth forgetting is the performance of Sainz, which confirms the difficulties experienced yesterday. The Spaniard misses out on Q3 and will start tomorrow from eleventh position. A result that disappoints and does not bode well for tomorrow's race, keeping in mind the few overtaking possibilities that the Hungaroring allows.
Mercedes: Hamilton exceptional, but what a disappointment Russell
Inside Mercedes Benz the lack of preparation for the qualification of yesterday and the new qualifying format did not allow George Russell to pass the Q1 cut. In fact, the English driver doesn't go any further the eighteenth position, victim of traffic at the end of the session. Tomorrow will be a very difficult race for the Mercedes driver, who will obviously be called upon to make a comeback.

Alfa and Haas fly in the Hungarian qualifications
The performance of the Ferrari-powered cars was wonderful, all in Q3 – except for Magnussen. At Alfa Romeo, Zhou and Bottas placed fifth and seventh respectively. It will be very interesting to see if the Biscione team will confirm the good race pace seen in yesterday's simulation. Nico's Haas performance was also very positive Hulkenberg which closes the top ten.

Ricciardo is there
He had been asked to stay ahead of his teammate and, making his qualifying debut, Daniel Ricciardo he responded presently. Although the AlphaTauri continues to be a difficult car to drive, the Australian finishes in thirteenth position, qualifying for Q2 and dreaming of a possible points zone for tomorrow's race. An excellent result, especially if you consider it the seventeenth square of Tsunoda.
In the background is Williams
He disappoints Williams with the sixteenth position of Alexander Albon and the last of Logan Sargeant, who failed - at least in qualifying - to repeat what he did well at Silverstone.
