We get on the track for the 15th qualifying of the season! There Ferrari dominated free practice in Singapore: 1-2 in FP1, 1-2 in FP2 and 1-5 in FP3. In particular, Carlos Sainz (first in the last two sessions) seemed more comfortable than Charles Leclerc. The last time the Ferraris ended all free practice in the lead was the 2022 Saudi Arabian GP, but when Verstappen won in the Red Bull.
Q1: Tsunoda in front of everyone, bad accident for Stroll
It all happens in the last two minutes of qualifying. The evolution of the track is so powerful that Yuki tsunoda puts his AlphaTauri in first position. Then, on the last bend, Lance goes off the track Stroll: very heavy bang for the Canadian, but the rider should be ok.
Bottas eliminated (P16), Sergeant (P17), Piastres (P18), Zhou (P19) e Stroll (P20). Albon (P15) and Hamilton (P14) were saved. Ahead, the top 5 reads: Tsunoda, Perez, Hulkenberg, Lawson, Magnussen. The two Ferraris of Leclerc and Sainz finished tenth and seventh respectively.
Q2: Sensational! Both Red Bulls out!
Verstappen is eliminated in Q2! For just seven thousandths, Liam Lawson snatches tenth place from the world champion. Perez he turns in his fast lap and is alone thirteenth! Not since the 2018 Russian GP has any Red Bull started in the top 10.
For Verstappen, this is the first elimination in Q2 without technical problems since Canada 2019. The others eliminated: Gasly, Albon and Tsunoda. The two Ferraris, the two Mercedes, the two Haas Alonso, Lawson, Norris and Ocon pass through to Q3.
Q3: Sainz still on pole!
For the second Sunday in a row, Carlos Sainz will leave in pole position! Excellent work by the Spaniard, in form all weekend. Second place for George Russell, what a mockery in extremis Leclerc for the first row. Norris finishes fourth ahead of Hamilton.
Excellent work by Magnussen, sixth ahead of Alonso, then Or with, Hulkenberg and the rookie Lawson, making his first appearance in Q3 after just two full weekends in Formula 1. The appointment is tomorrow at 14pm is preferably used for race!
