Although the rule relating to the obligation to field a rookie driver during two FP1s per championship causes quite a bit of discussion among the teams, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes and Ferrari immediately got to work. The star's team has in fact already announced that News will take place in the FP1 of the Mexican Grand Prix, while the Cavallino will make its debut Shwartzman already in the Dutch FP1. At Alfa Romeo, however, they have decided that at the end of the F2 championship, it will be Theo Pourchaire replacing Bottas and then Zhou on two occasions.
Alfa Romeo, Pourchaire on track as a rookie in two FP1s during this season
Pourchaire is in right now leader of Formula 2 championship and his focus – hard to blame him – is currently solely on that goal. It certainly won't be easy for him, considering that Vesti is there and chasing 12 points behind. Once the championship ends, Pourchaire's big chance will come to get on the C43, a very particular car that is not giving away to the fans ofAlfa Romeo the results that perhaps could have been expected before the start of the season, without forgetting that next year we will no longer be talking about Alfa Romeo but about Sauber - in view of Audi's entry from 2026.

Pourchaire's announcement: "After Monza I will have my chance"
Last year, Pourchaire participated in the FP1 of the US Grand Prix. Nothing excludes that the selected stage could be the same this year too, as told by the Frenchman himself: "It will be after Monza, when there will be no F2 for a long time. This will allow me to discover new circuits and gain more experience in Formula 1. I'm really looking forward to it”. Pourchaire is therefore preparing to return to the track in Formula 1, dreaming of one day not far away being able to enter the Circus on a permanent basis.
