Lando Norris crossed the finish line of the Spanish GP in second place. The amazing lap that earned him the Pole Positions yesterday it didn't help to grab a victory that could have been an important step for both the drivers' and constructors' classifications. The regret on the face of the young English driver, however, means as much as the McLaren is carving out an increasingly leading role in the current season.
Lando Norris second: qualifying wasn't enough to win the Spanish GP
Lando Norris's start at the start of the Spanish GP was not excellent, as he tried to defend the lead from Max Verstappen, leaving the door wide open for George Russell's Mercedes. The number 63 has in fact replicated the exploits of Fernando Alonso, when in 2013 on Ferrari he managed to take the lead thanks to a double attack on the outside of his rivals. Norris, surprised, saw himself slip away into third place. A strategy, perhaps not perfect, forced him in vain to make a mad chase towards Max Verstappen, thus seeing the victory slip away. Norris showed all his disappointment in the post-Spanish GP.

«It was a race that I could win, or rather, that I had to win. I got off to a bad start. The car was incredible and we were definitely the fastest. I lost the race at the start, I'm not sure what I did wrong, maybe I was simply slow. I found myself with Max on the side and then Russell caught me by surprise. It's a test I have to learn from. Beyond this, a nice haul of points and thanks to the team because the car is fantastic. Congratulations to Max and Red Bull but I'm frustrated not to have won. We'll try again. Austria has always been one of my favorites in terms of performance. I'm excited and we're doing great. We have to raise our level and we will be ahead of everyone."
