The more the hours pass - or rather the Grands Prix - the closer we get to knowing next year's line-ups in F1. To date, there is no shortage of doubts: just consider Zhou, which could leave Alfa Romeo, but also tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo, especially following the unfortunate injury that struck him in the Dutch GP. If on the one hand, the future of these pilots is shaky - with Zhou certainly the most at risk - on the other there are those who appear to have recently received a reconfirmation, namely Sergio Perez.
Red Bull's plans
The Mexican's future has been the center of attention for quite some time at home Red Bull. Perez's performances, from the Miami GP onwards, they didn't convince the Milton Keynes team at all. Although, in fact, the results brought home by De Vries were certainly not those hoped for - zero points, the only one together with Sargeant, after ten races - Helmut Marko's will was to replace the Dutch driver with Ricciardo both to improve results Alpha Tauri, but also to give Red Bull an option in case of a disastrous year for Sergio Perez. Despite this, Christian Horner has always specified that, if a chance for Ricciardo in RB arose, it would not arrive before 2025.

Ricciardo's injury saves Perez's place
This indiscretion seems to be confirmed. Following of Daniel Ricciardo's injury – who will undoubtedly also miss Monza and, barring any surprises, Singapore – in Red Bull have decided to reconfirm Sergio Perez also in view of next season, thus respecting the contract in place with the Mexican, fresh from his fourth port in Dutch GP. To confirm, as told by Motorsport.com Italia, it is the same Marko who, however, did not want to specify that Perez will be Verstappen's partner until 2024: "With Ricciardo's injury everything is clear ahead of next season” – admitted the Red Bull advisor.
Perez, now it is forbidden to make mistakes
Perez remains at Red Bull, at least for another year, but the Mexican will have to raise his head again to really hope for a further, possible but currently difficult, contract renewal.
