In Formula 1 increases the possibility of being able to have a new scoring criteria. Following the F1 Commissions carried out today, Thursday 25 April, in fact, the teams analyzed the possibility and the new criteria to be adopted. Several declared themselves in favor and, precisely for this reason, the choice of FIA is to wait. The Federation has chosen to take this path to analyze what it would entail and what the benefits would be of the new scoring criterion that could soon debut in Formula 1.
New scoring criterion in Formula 1, several teams are in favor
One of the reasons behind the hypothesis of opting for the entry of the new scoring criterion in Formula 1 is the gap between the top 5 teams and the last ones. Increasing the points area up to 12th place, it would increase the chances of being able to see more teams fighting for the points zone. This would allow them to push the drivers even more to fight in what in F1 jargon is called "midfield".
Awaiting a final decision
In order to guarantee, obviously, that the rule is approved in view of next season, there is an element that will be fundamental. 5 teams out of 10 participantsin fact, they will have to support the new directive. At the moment, several teams have already said they are favorites for approval. In addition to the smaller teams, Motorsport.com informs that already during the weekend of the Chinese GP both Ferrari, in the figure of Frederic Vasseur, that Red Bull, with Christian Horner, seemed to be inclined towards this possibility. The parties, therefore, will continue to dialogue before having the definitive approval which could arrive in the next F1 Commission.
