Lando Norris scored yet another Pole Position of the season in qualifying Dutch GP. After an extraordinary lap, the English driver managed to beat his teammate and Max Verstappen. But now when Norris starts tomorrow he will first have to fight against himself. Will he be able to get out of the Tarzan first this time? For Lando it will be time to put aside the criticism he has received.
Dutch GP: Norris wins again in qualifying
At the start of Q3, Formula 1 had only one certainty: the Pole Position would be Orange. It only remained to be defined whether the right Orange would be that of Max Verstappen, or that of Piastri and Norris' McLaren. The latter, however, confirmed the trend carried forward until the Belgian GP. In fact, even here in Holland, the English team cars proved to be the most stable and fastest on the twisty Zandvoort circuit. A sensational performance by Lando Norris who, on a fairly short circuit, managed to set an excellent 1:09.673, inflicting a gap of almost three tenths on Verstappen and almost half a second on Piastri. Lando tomorrow he will have to realize what he has always lost during the championship. In fact, out of 17 starts (including sprint races), the English driver lost positions 15 times. For Norris, the time has come to sweep away the criticism and reverse this negative trend.
Norris on the start of the race: "I don't want to talk about it now"
McLaren and Norris will certainly have worked on the starts since the last start in Belgium. But calculations and simulations are one thing, the race, the real one, is another. Tomorrow Norris will be called upon to prove to everyone that he can constantly fight for victory, especially against a tough opponent like Max Verstappen. There was so much media pressure on the shoulders of driver number four, who already began to pressure Norris in his post-qualifying statements. The latter, however, in a decisive manner but with a hint of fear in his words, commented on tomorrow's departure as follows: “Now I don't want to talk about it, it will definitely be hard. Max was very fast and today we beat him. But he is still second and will certainly fight hard in his home race. I can't wait to race".
A Norris who preferred to focus more on the excellent result obtained in qualifying. “Fantastic day, nice to be back and start again with a Pole. I did a lot of good laps. Especially the last one, which is always the most important. Great work by the team, I'm happy with today“. A noteworthy performance, which will certainly give the driver confidence McLaren. In fact, despite the pitfalls caused by the circuit and the weather, Norris managed to position himself in front of everyone. “I also complained because the ride here is complicated, you don't know how far to push and where the limits are. But the feelings were good and we brought some updates and everything is working. I have to thank the team for this."
