Immediately after the summer break, Formula 1 will stop in Zandvoort for the Dutch GP. We will fly to Verstappen's home and, considering the world champion's season, one can already imagine the sky-high enthusiasm of his audience. Seven days after the Dutch GP, however, we will race at our house with the Italian GP, in Monza, with lots of new features for fans on the way.
After Holland, we're racing at our house
Despite a Ferrari which is not convincing - especially if you compare it to last season - the affection of the fans will not be lacking in Monza, with the red inferno that has already been announced, even if the record of 330 thousand last year seems to be very far away. This was communicated in an exclusive interview with the newspaper “The day”, is the president of ACI Italia Sticchi Damiani: " July we expected a better response on ticket sales, even if the Ferrari podium with Leclerc it gives us some hope. Even if we have to forget last year's record of 330 thousand. I hope we can find the balance".
Damiani reveals: “Here's what's stopping us from renewing Monza”
With more and more requests from various nations to host a GP, it will certainly not be easy for Monza to be able to renew the contract - currently expiring in 2025 - with Liberty Media. Nothing would prevent us from thinking about a five-year renewal, as done by the other circuits held in July, but to block everything, as admitted by Damiani, is a significant obstacle: “Aci is the owner of the Italian Grand Prix which is and will be in Monza, but we do not own the racetrack. Through our company Sias we manage it by virtue of a concession with the Park and Villa Consortium which, however, it is valid until 2028. That's our deadline. It depends on the fact that the Consortium is a 'management project' of the Park and Villa Reale complex which lasts until 2029.”
"At present we are certain that we will be able to manage the racetrack only until 2028, but a renewal with Formula 1 for only three years is unthinkable. It would be uneconomical. We trust that a shared solution can be found that can guarantee peace of mind for all interested parties."
