Adrian Newey will not be a new Mercedes engineer. The hypothesis of being able to see the British, after having greeted the Red Bull on May 1st officially, landing in Brackley will remain just a distant idea. The decision comes from Toto Wolff and by his team who decided to give, as reported by Motorsport.com, greater trust to Allison, who arrived last season as technical director in place of Elliott. Despite this, there is no shortage of difficulties on the W15 and Mercedes continues to experience an absolutely difficult situation. The objective on the part of the German team will be to try to raise the bar, in the hope of at least getting closer to the important positions which, at the moment, see Red Bull ahead, Ferrari and McLaren.

Mercedes: how many changes, even without Newey
Despite Newey's non-arrival, there will still be a revolution at Mercedes. Wolff, in addition to Allison, has in fact decided to rely on Simone Resta which will come from Ferrari. Considering the farewells, already announced, of Loic Serra and Jerome D'Ambrosio (both in Ferrari), the British team will rely on former Haas technical director and Enrico Sampo. He, however, will play the role of simulation specialist and will occupy the role of head of performance software applications. In Mercedes, therefore, it will be a revolution even without the arrival of the genius from Milton Keynes who could really, instead, take a direct flight to Italy, destination Maranello.
