Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren recently expressed great satisfaction with the progress made by his team, culminating in the first career victory of Lando Norris at the Miami Grand Prix. This success for Brown not only marked a milestone for Norris but also underlined the importance of the leadership of Andrea Stella, who was promoted to Team Principal following the departure of Andreas Seidl.
Zak Brown on Sky: “Andrea Stella did an incredible job”
In an interview with Sky Sports, Brown openly praised Stella: “It really changed everything. If you look at the beginning of the year, he only changed a few people and then he put Andrea in charge. He did an incredible job leading the team, making everyone very focused, communicating, listening, leading by example."
The triumph in Miami was not only a demonstration of technical superiority, but also a symbol of the hard work and dedication of the entire McLaren team, as Brown highlighted: “I'm very proud of Lando and I'm very proud of the team. We have been waiting for this for a long time and now we have finally given him a car that is capable of winning,” said Brown, adding that the team has developed a formidable car, managing to compete even beyond initial expectations. In fact, the first major updates arrived in Miami for the team which managed to impose itself not only on Ferrari but also on Red Bull.
But it's not just the car that has changed, but rather the entire team led by Stella's leadership. Speaking further about the Italian team principal's impact, Brown continued: “He's fantastic, we wouldn't have won without Andrea's leadership, he's been doing a fantastic job since day one. Considering the material he had in hand last year, he had perhaps the worst car on the grid, which then became second in the second half of the year and now the best car here, at least on this circuit, it's incredible and my praise isn't enough. ”

The transformation of McLaren which is now aiming high
Norris' victory in Miami ended a run of 15 winless podiums and gave McLaren its 184th victory in the Circus. The careful and strategic approach, combined with the ongoing support and resources provided by the McLaren team, promises to continue to bring success and innovation into the future of the team which has seen a total transformation under Stella's leadership. This allows McLaren to remain in the top area of the rankings, to one day also aim to fight for the world title.
