Last week of break and then we start again. Formula 1 is preparing to return to the track and will do so with the Dutch Grand Prix on the weekend of 25 to 27 August. We fly to the house Verstappen, true dominator of the season. If on the one hand, in fact, for the first place of the constructors - as well as of the drivers - there seems to be no more competition, as regards the second position, Ferrari, Mercedes, Aston Martin and McLaren they are ready to battle.
Leclerc admits: “We have to take second place”
It will be very interesting to see, after the summer break, if Ferrari starts again from the excellent podium conquered in Belgium by Charles Leclerc. The SF-23, somewhat surprisingly also for the pilots, responded very well to the characteristics presented by the Spa-Francorchamps layout, showing itself second force on the track. A scene that we also saw other times during the season, but not always with great consistency. The goal of the red team, in view of the second part of the season, will be precisely this, as also admitted by Charles Leclerc"I honestly believe that a feasible objective could be to fight for second place in the constructors' championship, which will undoubtedly be a good challenge. McLaren is now back in the fight, Mercedes has always been strong and, although Aston has slipped a bit recently, I have no doubt that they can return. But yes: this is our goal".
“Updates will come”
Ferrari, to date, it is fourth in the constructors' standings and, although Aston Martin now seems to have reached it (the distance is 5 points), a different discussion needs to be made for Mercedes, distant 56 lengths. Precisely for this reason, as confirmed by Charles Leclerc, there will be no shortage of updates on the SF-23"Our Customers – explained Leclerc – a couple of updates that will arrive later in the second part of the season, which we hope will make a difference and help us achieve these goals".
