Charles Leclerc's battle with his SF-23 at Zandvoort lasted 43 laps. 43 laps suffered, after the damage suffered at the start and a disastrous pit stop to fit the intermediate tires which were not on the pitch when Charles stopped to fit them. A disaster announced, also due to the many problems the Monegasque had in the early stages of the weekend and yesterday's accident qualification. Compared to Sainz, who could have reached the podium without a powerful Alonso, Charles suffered more from the set-up he chose. A compromise, the one for balance, which has not borne fruit but still many doubts. So let's see how Charles Leclerc commented on the Dutch weekend, interviewed at the end of his race of just 43 laps.
The initial contact
There were several difficulties in the initial phase of the Grand Prix. The rain, which never stopped tormenting the teams in this race, forced them to review strategies in a matter of seconds and this created confusion. At Leclerc's first call, the Ferrari mechanics were not ready with the intermediate tires and this sparked the anger of the fans who once again saw Charles stopped in the pits waiting for tires to be fitted. But according to the Monegasque this wouldn't have had much of an impact on the rest of his race. There are other riders who didn't stop and who actually paid a higher bill than the Monegasque.

What compromised Charles Leclerc's race, according to the Monegasque himself, was the initial contact with Oscar Piastri. A contact that caused Charles to lose 60 points of load, and which therefore decreed the end of the Monegasque's race.
"The call on the first round was right – says Charles to the microphones of Mara Sangiorgio, of Sky Sport F1, then obviously we lost some time at the pit stop but we gained more than lost. The contact with Oscar was small but it had a huge influence on the car and we lost more than 60 points. After that there was nothing left to do."
